Flavor South Florida opened its books on September 1 and runs through the end of the month, and if you live on Singer Island you have already seen the flyers: six restaurants across the island and the causeway are running fixed-price dinner menus, priced between $55 and $75, as part of the county's biggest annual dining promotion. The pitch is the same everywhere. Book a table, order the special menu, save some money on a meal you were probably going to eat anyway.
Here is what the flyers don't tell you: on five of those six menus, there's no way to actually check whether you're saving anything. The sixth one, you can check down to the dollar. That distinction is worth twenty minutes of your time before you make a reservation, because it changes which restaurant you book first.
The Six Tables Actually Playing This Year
Flavor South Florida started in 2007 with a handful of restaurants and has grown into a countywide event with 112 participants in 2026, stretching from Boca Raton to the Treasure Coast. On Singer Island and the immediate cluster around it, six kitchens are running Flavor menus this September:
- Buccaneer Waterfront Bar & Grill, the casual dockside restaurant at the historic marina in Palm Beach Shores, offering a $65 dinner
- Caretta Caretta, the New American dining room at The Singer Oceanfront Resort, at $55
- ONA Coastal Cuisine, the Mediterranean-leaning restaurant inside the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, at $65
- TULA, the wellness-focused restaurant at Amrit Ocean Resort, at $75
- AYRE by Karma, the newer Indian restaurant also at Amrit Ocean Resort, at $55 to $65
- Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen, on North Ocean Avenue in Riviera Beach, with pricing still listed as pending as this went to press
The floor for Flavor menus countywide is $35 for dinner and $25 for lunch where lunch is offered, so every Singer Island participant is priced well above the promotion's baseline. That's not unusual for oceanfront addresses, but it does mean the neighborhood's version of Flavor skews toward the pricier end of what the event offers elsewhere in the county.
Where the Discount Is Provable
AYRE by Karma is the one restaurant on this list where you can do actual arithmetic. On any other night of the year, AYRE runs a tasting menu structured in three tiers: three courses for $75, five courses for $105, or seven courses for $145. Those are the everyday prices, published and consistent since the restaurant opened inside Amrit Ocean Resort.
During Flavor, that same restaurant is offering dinner for $55 to $65. Even the top of that range comes in ten dollars under the shortest tasting menu AYRE normally sells. That's a real, checkable discount of somewhere between 13 and 27 percent off the restaurant's own posted pricing, not an estimate or a guess dressed up as a deal.
AYRE is also the newest name on this list by a wide margin. It's the first South Florida location for Karma Modern Indian, the Washington D.C. restaurant that has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2021, and it opened inside Amrit in December 2025, putting it at roughly nine months old as of this September. Chef Asif R. Syed runs the kitchen, building a menu around dishes like lobster masala, Amritsari snapper and tandoor-fired naan, served in a dining room that opens onto an oceanfront terrace.
"For Karma Modern Indian, Amrit Ocean Resort was the ideal partner for our first expansion beyond Washington, D.C."
That's Sachin Mahajan, the founder of Karma, on why the concept landed on Singer Island in the first place. For a restaurant this new, with a normal tasting menu that asks for a $75 to $145 commitment before you've tried a single dish, Flavor Month functions as the lowest-friction way for someone who lives five minutes away to finally sit down and see what the buzz has been about, without gambling on the top tier of the regular menu first.
Where the Discount Is a Guess
The other five Singer Island participants don't publish a fixed multi-course price on a normal Tuesday, which means there's nothing to hold their Flavor price up against. Buccaneer Waterfront Bar & Grill runs an a la carte menu of crab cakes, burgers, brick-oven pizzas and fish sandwiches at the historic marina in Palm Beach Shores, under chef Paul Niedermann. Ordering three courses off that regular menu on any given night could easily land above or below $65 depending on what you choose, so the Flavor price isn't obviously cheaper than eating there normally. It's a different way to eat there, not a verified discount.
The same logic applies to Caretta Caretta and ONA Coastal Cuisine, both of which serve a la carte dinners without a standing tasting-menu price to compare against, and to TULA, whose wellness-driven, ingredient-forward menu at Amrit also runs a la carte the rest of the year. Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen hadn't finalized its Flavor pricing as of the most recent listing, so anyone planning to eat there this month should confirm the current menu directly on Flavor South Florida's site before booking rather than assume it lines up with the rest of the cluster.
None of this means those five menus aren't worth booking. It means the reason to book them is different. You're not chasing a markdown, you're paying a set price to try more of the kitchen in one sitting than you'd normally order for yourself, at a restaurant you likely already know how to find.
Why the Whole Month Exists
September is historically the slowest tourism month on this stretch of coast, and Flavor South Florida was built specifically to give restaurants a reason for locals to keep showing up while the visitor traffic thins out. That context matters for how you think about the six Singer Island menus. The restaurants aren't competing with each other for tourist dollars this month. They're asking the people who live here year-round to fill tables that would otherwise sit empty between Labor Day and the winter season, and the pricing on each menu reflects what that specific restaurant needed to make the ask worth it, not a uniform countywide discount formula.
Before You Book
A few practical notes that apply across all six menus:
- Menu prices typically exclude tax, gratuity, beverages and, at some locations, valet parking
- Most Flavor menus don't allow substitutions or plate sharing, so check the specific courses before you commit
- Lunch versions, where offered elsewhere in the county, tend to run cheaper and easier to book than dinner, though none of the Singer Island six currently list a lunch option
- The full, current list of menus and prices lives on Flavor South Florida's own site, which is worth checking the week you plan to go since some restaurants finalize pricing closer to the date
If you're weighing which of these six to try first, the math points toward AYRE. If you're weighing which one to revisit because you already know you like it, the other five are exactly what they've always been, just organized into a set menu for the month.
Knowing which restaurants on this island are new, which are legacy, and which prices are actually worth comparing is the same kind of homework that goes into knowing a building's rental policy or a block's real resale history. If you're the type of Singer Island resident who likes having that level of detail on hand, that's the same approach Singer Island Real Estate brings to buyers, sellers and anyone weighing a move on this stretch of coast.
